About the Artist

I grew up in Indiana, loving and drawing animals from an early age. In fact, at one time, I wanted to be a vet. But thanks to a vivid imagination and an incredibly detailed description of a surgery in John Steinbach’s “The Red Pony”, I realized I didn’t have the stomach for it. I loved art and considered it as a career for a long time, but I also hated the “Vanishing Animal” signs at too many animal displays at the zoo. I didn’t believe we had the right to exterminate entire species. So, I went to Purdue University for a Bachelor of Science in Forestry and Wildlife Management. After a career in conservation with several Federal agencies, I now share my passion for animals and conservation through my art.

Now I’ve retired to Colorado to follow my dream of being an artist. If you love horses and appreciate their power, beauty, spirit and intellect, you’ll want to collect my horse art. I capture them in realistic detail from unique perspectives and bring out emotional responses in those who view my art. However, if wildlife and the conservation of wild spaces are more to your liking, my realistic approach to capturing these subjects will allow you to collect art to feed this desire.

The more people who are touched by my art portraying the subjects I specialize in, the more who will understand the need to preserve them. From open areas where mustangs roam free to parks and forests where wildlife is preserved both here and abroad, all deserve our protection. By buying, displaying, and sharing my art you are helping to spread this ethic.

I am also available for commission of your beloved horses and special memories of wildlife to preserve these memories.
